While visiting Outside with Gorilla Nems, Ghostface Killah clarified that he’s never had a rivalry with fellow Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon.

Ghostface Killah is setting the record straight on his alleged beef with fellow Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon. On the latest episode of webseries and podcast Outside with Gorilla Nems, Pretty Toney denied the rivalry accusations, opposite of the first season storyline of Wu-Tang: An American Saga. On the Hulu series, Ghostface and Raekwon were portrayed as violent enemies, even having a shootout against each other before making amends as group mates. According to Ghostface, it’s all fictional.

“Me and Rae never had beef,” he clarified on Outside with Gorilla Nems. “Me and Rae never had no problems. It was just the way them characters got switched around.”

When a co-host suggested that Ironman and Raekwon probably “laugh” about the depiction, the emcee replied, “I mean, I don’t laugh about that s*** because that shit ain’t my story! But you know, Rae, that’s my bro. I love him. We had chemistry, like he taught me a lot of s***, a lot of slang ’cause up where they’re from, they had too much slang.”

In 2013, six years before An American Saga premiered, Raekwon said that he and Ghostface once had mutual animosity because the two were in rival neighborhoods.

“So when RZA formed this alliance, it was definitely spoken on like, ‘Yo, I don’t really f*** with Ghost, he’s a crook.’ But when RZA was the middle guy, it was almost like he did a [John] Gotti move,” Raekwon said at the time. “He brought all the families to the table, and made n***** make amends, due to the fact of how we gon’ move forward and get this money.”

The third and final season of An American Saga is set to debut on February 15.
