Scissor Sister Jake Shears is back with new music in 2023 with the anticipated release of his second solo album “Last Man Dancing” this Summer. The follow up to 2018’s self-titled debut will feature a collaboration with his mate Kylie Minogue (“Voices”), who herself has new music on the horizon.
To kick off “Last Man Dancing”, Jake has released the lead single, “Too Much Music”, his first since working with Norwegian singer Annie on “Neon Lights” in 2021 and prior to that, his own standalone tracks “Meltdown” and “Do The Television” in 2020.
Jake burst onto the scene in 2002 with the Scissor Sisters witht heir global hit debut album that spawned five chart hits in the UK with “Filthy/Gorgeous”, “Laura”, “Comfortably Numb”, “Take Your Mama” and “Mary”. The group went to number one in 2006 with “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’”, but last recorded together in 2012 with the album “Magic Hour”.
Jake and BabyDaddy from the group helped Kylie with her 2004 smash “I Believe In You” while Jake reunited with her in 2015 with the huge streaming hit “The Other Boys”, along with NERVO and the legendary Mr. Nile Rodgers. The track topped the US Club chart.
