NYC Events celebrating Hip-hop 50
Hip Hop: Conscious, Unconscious (Fotografiska New York)
Fotografiska is an interactive photography museum in Gramercy that houses NY’s most lively images any given week. From now until May 20, 2023, they’re hosting “Hip Hop: Conscious, Unconscious,” a collaboration between the museum and Mass Appeal that they’re billing as the “definitive destination to celebrate hip-hop’s global impact on visual expression.” That’s a tall task that we expect them to reach with the best photographers of contemporary music portraying the art form’s greatest figures.

Fresh Fly and Fabulous at FIT (The FIT Museum)

The Museum at FIT steps in to curate an essential series of looks and colors for the record. Revolution of Hip Hop (UHHM)
Hip-hop was born in the Bronx, at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue. The Universal Museum of Hip-Hop offers its best exhibits for the 50th anniversary, including this spotlighted interactive experience that will showcase the artifacts, tools, and sounds of the genre.
